AfterThe problem
What the household was actually dealing with before we arrived.
Sports equipment, holiday decorations, paint cans and boxes from a move two houses ago were stacked across the entire floor. Both cars had spent six Long Island winters in the driveway.
The process we used
Declutter, sort, optimize, applied to this particular room.
This one was mostly triage before it was organizing. We worked in categories across the whole floor, and the honest conversation was about the moving boxes that had not been opened in years. Once the volume was decided, everything remaining went vertical: wall track with hooks for long-handled tools and bikes, closed bins on shelving for holiday decorations, and a low cabinet for paint and chemicals well away from the water heater. Seasonal items were placed by season, so the snow shovels sit at the front from November and swap with the beach gear in May.

Before
Both bays full to roughly chest height, a narrow walking path down the middle, and no floor visible along either wall.
After
Walls carrying the tools, bikes and seasonal bins on track and shelving, one labelled zone for chemicals, and both bays clear.
The result
Both cars have been parked inside since the day we finished, which was the entire point.
